Our clients now have more insight than they ever have done to be able to handle issues around harassment and bullying, but it’s time to really shift culture so that we can help organisations take a proactive and preventive approach.
About The Role
We are looking for a frontend developer with a focus on working on our TypeScript/React codebase and maintaining our design system. We are a full-stack development team so your work will not be restricted to the front-end and you will be involved in working with the wider product team including designers and other developers, ensuring good error handling, considering cross-browser concerns and keeping the codebase clean to allow a sustainable pace of development.
A typical day in this role will entail writing code to implement new features or to fix any identified bugs, taking part in agile practices such as standups, sprint planning, retrospectives and prioritisation, and working closely with the design team to feedback design improvements and to ensure a close working relationship between the design and development teams. As part of your focus on the front-end of the system, you will also be taking an active role in the development of our design system/component library.
Our flagship product is a web-based system. The system consists of:
- A serverless backend deployed to AWS using a PostgreSQL database for data storage and a GraphQL API using TypeScript and NodeJS.
- A dashboard front-end which is a React-based single page app built in TypeScript with Sass for styling.
- A public reporting front-end, which is a progressively enhanced website using Express, Handlebars and some server-side React, with PostCSS for styling.
Experience with the following technologies & methods are essential for this role:
- Building accessible web applications
- Progressive enhancement
- Single-page apps
Familiarity with the following technologies would be helpful, but not necessary as long as you can demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies:
- GraphQL (e.g. Apollo)
We work closely as a team, and our culture works best when we’re together as a team in-person, and team members are currently spending at least 2-3 days a week in the office. We are open to flexibility and there is an option for part time working.
